Zumbar Coffee Roasters makes some of the best coffee in North County—arguably the best. Tucked away on a quiet neighborhood street in Cardiff, the roastery opened its second location as both a production space and a community hub.

This project encompassed both architecture and interior design, with the environment intentionally crafted to support the quality of the coffee itself. Exposed concrete, decorative concrete floors, areas of Arto brick, warm wood elements, and restrained industrial detailing reflect the craft and precision of the roasting process. Chalkboards and a low service counter invite conversation and connection, reinforcing a welcoming, community-forward environment.

The floors were a key design statement—layered with texture and materiality—grounding the space while subtly referencing the industrial nature of the roasting process without overpowering it.
