A 7,600-square-foot addition and separate 1,200-square-foot ADU transformed this Mediterranean home into a Santa Barbara–style contemporary residence, thoughtfully remodeled to embrace its dramatic coastal setting. The scope included full architectural and interior design services, FFE selection, and close coordination with a landscape architect to create a cohesive indoor–outdoor experience.

The design takes full advantage of sweeping ocean views, anchored by expansive pocketing glass door systems framed by a dramatic 45-foot steel beam span, opening the home to views of the lagoon and ocean beyond. Indoor living spaces flow seamlessly to outdoor entertaining areas, featuring a pool and spa designed for year-round coastal living.

Materials were carefully curated to balance warmth and authenticity with modern refinement, including contemporary iron railings, natural rustic oak flooring, authentic zellige tile, and cotto brick flooring throughout. The landscape design emphasizes drought-tolerant planting, reinforcing the home’s connection to its Southern California environment.

The 1,200-square-foot ADU is a fully independent residence with an attached garage, offering flexible living accommodations while maintaining architectural harmony with the main home.
