This project was a complete remodel and re-envisioning of a beachfront residence in Del Mar, California. Originally a traditional home, the design approach focused on modernizing the interiors while honoring the relaxed sophistication of its coastal setting. Large-format flagstone flooring anchors the main living spaces, complemented by custom wood stairs and warm, tailored cabinetry. A sleek, linear fireplace introduces a contemporary focal point, balancing texture with restraint.

The interiors were thoughtfully curated around the client’s original art collection, allowing the architecture and furnishings to serve as a refined backdrop. A striking, sculptural chandelier crafted from cutlery adds a note of unexpected whimsy, while a custom Mick De Giulio sink serves as both a functional centerpiece and a nod to artisanal craftsmanship. The result is a modern coastal residence that feels layered, personal, and quietly bold—where traditional bones meet a distinctly contemporary sensibility.
