Midcentury

Built in 1959 and thoughtfully renovated in 2019, this classic mid-century home celebrates its original post-and-beam construction, expansive glazing, and warm wood ceilings. The original floating mahogany cabinetry—having admirably served for nearly 60 years—had finally earned a graceful retirement. The cabinets were replaced floating in kind with custom rotary birch plywood cabinetry, preserving the home’s modernist intent while significantly improving durability and performance.

The kitchen was outfitted with integrated Miele appliances, seamlessly blending contemporary function with timeless design. Interior carpet tiles in bright green and gray were introduced to echo the surrounding landscape and bring the outdoors in.

The bathrooms were upgraded with custom Robern cabinetry and Robern medicine cabinets, paired with new faucets designed by Patricia Urquiola. Original light fixtures and switches were preserved throughout, maintaining the authentic character and integrity of the home.
