This project was a full architecture, interior design, and FF&E procurement commission for Kolstad Facial Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Kolstad, located in La Jolla, California. The design balances precision and warmth through polished and mirrored surfaces, paired with a refined palette of gray and black, thoughtfully softened with warm tones introduced through furnishings, art, and textured wall coverings. Marble floors and custom signage reinforce a modern, elevated aesthetic.

A cascading leaf-pattern wall covering was developed as a subtle motif, guiding patients down the hallway toward the surgery center and introducing movement and calm within a highly clinical environment. The recovery room features a custom-designed mural, creating a restorative, art-forward moment that supports patient comfort and healing.

The program includes a welcoming reception and waiting area, manager’s office, doctor’s office, four exam rooms, a fully integrated operating room, and a dedicated surgery recovery room—each designed and permitted as part of the overall architectural and medical planning process.

Every detail was meticulously considered to reflect Dr. Kolstad’s expertise and the practice’s commitment to aesthetics, precision, and excellence. The result is a space that is bright, crisp, modern, and impeccably clean, offering a refined patient experience that mirrors the artistry and technical rigor of facial plastic surgery.
