Eolus

This project was a full remodel with comprehensive architectural and interior design, including complete FF&E specification, created for a young family. The design incorporated a private primary bedroom suite, three additional bedrooms, and two bathrooms, along with a custom front entry door and a sculptural architectural stairway that anchors the home.

The residence was conceived as an “upside-down” living plan, with the main living spaces located on the second floor to maximize light, views, and connection to the outdoors, while the bedrooms are situated on the lower level for privacy. The upper level opens onto a generous balcony, creating seamless indoor–outdoor living and an ideal setting for entertaining.

The architectural language draws from a modern Craftsman sensibility, using natural woods, thoughtfully detailed millwork, and tall, vaulted ceilings where possible to bring in light and frame ocean views from the second floor. Carefully placed smaller window details add architectural interest while maintaining privacy. Throughout the home, vertical proportions—seen in the cabinetry, ceiling heights, and detailing—were used to accentuate volume, light, and a sense of openness.
